Reopening Policies and Procedures – 5/29/20 Update

We’re so excited to get back into the salon soon and we know you are too!

Please be patient with us as we work on scheduling appointments — if you’ve sent us an email, we have you on our list. We’re receiving hundreds of email a day and doing our best to respond. It may take a few days for you to hear back from us, but just know that we’re doing our best and we WILL get you into our schedule as soon as we can.

Please also remember that we are scheduling clients in the order in which they were scheduled while we were closed, and then moving on to those of you who did not have an appointment but want to get in. We will not be scheduling any new clients until our existing clientele has been accommodated.

Reopening Policies and Procedures (please review the following information prior to your visit!):

  • All staff members will be monitoring their health and staying home in the event of feeling ill.
  • Stylists will be wearing masks, face shields, gloves and smocks.
  • Partitions have been installed between shampoo bowls.
  • All tools and stations will be disinfected thoroughly between each client.
  • Clients will most likely remain in their stylist’s chair while their color processes.
  • Axle will be commercially cleaned after hours, but the salon will be continuously cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for everyone throughout the salon.
  • As always, clean capes, robes and towels will be used for each client.
  • Services will be limited to hair services only (makeup, waxing and beard trimming has been temporarily suspended until at least Phase 2).
  • Blow drys will NOT be provided with any service for the first few weeks of reopening.
  • We are limiting services to MAINTENANCE at this time (no major color changes or color corrections).
  • Appointments are required to enter the salon at this time (no walk-ins allowed).
  • Salon hours have been adjusted – each stylist will be working limited hours within our schedule to ensure we only have 4 stylists in the salon at one time (with only one client per stylist allowed in the salon).
  • We will not have any magazines or complimentary food or beverages available at this time.
  • Children’s haircuts will not be allowed at this time.
  • You will be contacted before your appointment about leaving a credit card on file. This is the card that will be charged upon the completion of your services, as we will only be taking payments by card at this time.

We ask you:

  • If you have any indication of sickness (even allergies), we will need to reschedule your appointment ASAP. If you have been exposed to someone who’s been sick, please refrain from coming in. Any client showing signs of sickness upon check in will be asked to leave.
  • Everyone must wear a clean face covering at all times while in the salon. Mask must cover your nose and mouth and can not be removed (and MUST have ear loops/cannot tie around head).
  • Please arrive to your appointment a few minutes early and wait in your car or outside the building until we give you the “ok” to enter. WE CAN NOT ACCEPT ANY LATE APPOINTMENTS AT THIS TIME.
  • Late arrivals, last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) and no-shows will be charged a fee using the card we have on file.
  • Clients are not permitted to bring children or guests to their appointment, as we can only allow a specific amount of clients into our space at one time.
  • Please wash your hands for 60 seconds upon entering the salon.
  • During your visit, please maintain social distancing and remain 6 feet apart at all times (other than stylist and client).
  • If you need to use the restroom, please wash your hands for 60 seconds.
  • Please keep the amount of personal belongings you bring with you to a minimum. Our coat closet can not be used at this time.
  • Please do not bring any food or beverages to your appointment.
  • We request that you do not touch any products. If you would like to purchase any retail, please ask a member of our team assist you.
  • Sadly, no hugs or handshakes.

While this is a lot to digest (for everyone!), we’re so excited to see you. We are taking all measures to keep our stylists and guests safe, and following all of the State’s safety standards. In the event the State of Massachusetts revises the guidelines, we will adjust our protocols to ensure we are following all the recommendations.
